This excursion will make you get acquainted with the most interesting and marvelous sights of Kiev.

The Golden Gate. It was erected by Yaroslav the Wise to be the gala entrance to the city. Nearby there is the monument dedicating to Yaroslav the Wise with model of Sophia Kievskaya on his hand.

Sophyivska square is the main square at the time of Yaroslav the Wise's ruling. The erection of Sophia Kievskaya was the action to show the power of Kievskaya Rus. The graves of Yaroslav the Wise and his wife Irina are located here. Sofiya Kievskaya used to be a library.

In 1990 Sophia Kievskaya was included into UNESCO's list of international heritage.

Myhailovsky cathedral was founded by Prince Svyatopolk (Myhayl). There had been the remains of holy Varvara, which were transferred to Vladymyrsky cloister after the destruction. During 1997-2000 Myhailovsky cathedral was rebuilt.

Khreschatyk Street is the main street of Kiev. Independent square is situated nearby and is the place for repose and entertainment. Every weekend it converts into the pedestrian area. There is the underground trade mall "Globus" with lots of cozy cafes.

The monument to Volodymyr who had baptized Kyiv Rus is situated on Volodymyrskyi hill. Rushing through the old park you stumble across the funicular-tram (3 carriages) which can lift you down and up to Volodymyrskyi hill. Going down you meet the charms of Podol, the historical district, where merchants and craftsmen used to live during the time of Kievskaya Rus. Loads of exquisite churches, Florovsky convent, the river moorage, market and variety of fascinating buildings can be observed wandering along narrow streets of this district. Poshtova square is the place where the first post department was built. Dnipro embankment, monument to Kiev founders, Paton bridge, monument Rodina-Mat (Homeland-Mother), the National Memorial Museum of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 (without visiting), stop to take photos, Kyivo-Pecherska Lavra Monastery (without visiting), Feodosya Pecherskaya church (without visiting), Spasa church, the burial place of Yury Dolgorukyi, the park of Glory, Maryinskyi park, the building of Supreme Soviet (Verhovna Rada) of Ukraine, the building of Cabinet Ministry of Ukraine, European square, the Ukrainian House, Khreschatyk, Bessarabskyi market, the square of Lev Tolstoy, T.G.Shevchenko National University, park named after T.G. Shevchenko.

At the beginning of the excursion everybody will have an opportunity to see the Golden Gate built by Yaroslav the Wise.

Then tourists stroll along Volodymyrs'ka Street and stumble across Sophyivska square.

The visiting of St.Sophia Cathedral will bring fabulous impressions. It is the architecture monument of the XI century which remained its beauty and pomposity till now.

The frescoes and mosaics are the indoor decorations of the cathedral which remained to inspire the artists. In 1990 Sophia Kievskaya was included in UNESCO's list of international heritage.

Starokievskaya hill. In 989 on this place Prince Volodymyr Svyatoslavovich began to erect the temple in honor to the Virgin and it became the first large scale building in Kiev.

The picturesque view of Kiev from "the city of Prince Volodymyr" will satisfy: Zamkova hill (the Castle hill), the hill of Schek, the hill of Horiv which are occupied with up-to-date buildings, Detines, "the castle of Richard".

There are many traces of ancient settlements of rich boyar's yards and wooden constructions.

Andreyevskaya church, Andriyivskyi Uzviz (slope), Podil.

The Museum of Mykhayl Bulgakov is situated on Andriyivskyi Uzviz (slope).

The excursion is intended to acquaint people with one of the most beautiful and oldest districts of Kiev, with Podil, its history and charms. The monuments of the XVII-XIX centuries have been saved and restored in Podil: Kyiv Mohyla Academy academy, the fountain "Samson", Guest's yard, Petro's house. There are also variety of temples: the church of The Virgin Pyrogoscha, Florovskyi convent, Ylynskaya church.

The tourists would wander along the streets where the heroes of Gogol and Stariskyi used to live, where Vovchok used to create and the Decembrists used to gather.

Pechersk is one of the oldest districts of Kiev. Its structure includes such historical places as Vydubychy, Zvyrynyc, Klov, Lypky.

Pechersk is abundant in the monuments of history and architecture of different time. They are classicism, bronco and modern style.

The excursion acquaints the guests with the past and prospects of future development of the district, with the most interesting and weird architecture construction, the creative work of eminent architects.

Kyiv Pechersk Lavra has been wonderful ornamentation and fame of Pechersk for ages. It is the object of worship of all Orthodox world. Antonyi from Lyubech was the founder of Kyiv Pechersk Lavra.

He settled in the cave on one of Kiev's hills, where Illaryon had lived before the future metropolitan Kievskyi. A lot of people with belief in their heart started to visit him, some of them began to join him. In such a way 12 monks gathered together to widen the cave and build the churches (nowadays it is the territory of the Far caves). The life of monks has begun…

Nowadays the territory of sanctuary includes:

• Great Lavra belfry. Coming up to the top the marvelous view of all Kiev spread beneath. The height is 96,5 meters (paid entrance).
• Loads of temples: Uspenskyi cathedral, Troyskaya church, Trapeznaya church, Krestovozdvygshenskaya church, Annozachatyevskaya church, the church of Virgin's Christmas, Voskresenskaya church.
• The restoration workshops.
• Museums: of luxuries, of microminiature, of bookprinting.

The Near and Far caves with holy remains and underground churches are particular sights for pilgrims.

It is seasonal excursion, available from April till October.

This ancient Russia settlement was located in the southern outskirts of Kiev in forested land which had been called Kytayev. Our ancestors appreciate the meaning of Kytayevo situated on the high hills and been mounted to serve fortified fortress.

During the excursion the tourists would visit Kytayevo, get to know a lot of interesting information about ancient Russian tumulus, swells, cave labyrinths of Kievskaya Rus's time, about life of Slavonic tribes and open their mind about our state of that time.

This museum was founded in 1969 as the reserve of the national culture.

There are more then 300 buildings: churches, mills, huts, the objects of life, country clothes (about 80 thousands items). The exposition includes the department in accordance with historical and ethnographical regions of Ukraine.

During holidays different ethnographical collectives perform and the folk parties take place on a territory of the museum.
